Yeah, this is what I needed in the new year。 An all new Kristen Ashley book, where the main characters are in their early fifties。 With lots, and lots of chemistry。 And also a mystery with a psychological thriller undertone。 It was definitely what I needed this week。I loved Delphine from the first time I met her, she was quirky, strong, didn't need a man (but she did want one - if he could love her right), with two adult daughters。 And because of a stalker, she had bought a house just outside a Yeah, this is what I needed in the new year。 An all new Kristen Ashley book, where the main characters are in their early fifties。 With lots, and lots of chemistry。 And also a mystery with a psychological thriller undertone。 It was definitely what I needed this week。I loved Delphine from the first time I met her, she was quirky, strong, didn't need a man (but she did want one - if he could love her right), with two adult daughters。 And because of a stalker, she had bought a house just outside a small town in the middle of nowhere - in Misted Pines - by the lake。 She didn't know the neighbors, until she first met 16-year-old Celeste。 Then her very intense father - Cade - and little by little she met more people in town。There was a young girl who was killed because she and her friends wandered into the woods on her birthday sleep-over。 Then, a 19-year-old was plucked from her dorm at Berkley and left at Bohanan's pier。 And in between all that, there was a sex scandal, young love, mature love, action, some very hot scenes, and lots of family get-togethers。 All of that in the midst of chasing and hunting a killer。I loved every single page in this novel, and I can't wait to read more in this series。 Kristen Ashley novels are my jam, and I'm always a happy camper when I get my hands on a new one! 。。。more

Delphine Larue is hiding out from a stalker in the small PNW town of Misted Pines。 While she's there, her stalker issue is resolved, but then another killer is on the loose, and in the process, Delphine meets and becomes close with Cade Bohanan and his three children。What I liked:-The stalker story felt a bit rushed and like an afterthought (even though it happened first), but the mystery story was entertaining and suspenseful。-Family dynamics were pretty typical of KA, but entertaining nonethel Delphine Larue is hiding out from a stalker in the small PNW town of Misted Pines。 While she's there, her stalker issue is resolved, but then another killer is on the loose, and in the process, Delphine meets and becomes close with Cade Bohanan and his three children。What I liked:-The stalker story felt a bit rushed and like an afterthought (even though it happened first), but the mystery story was entertaining and suspenseful。-Family dynamics were pretty typical of KA, but entertaining nonetheless。-There is a cross-reference mention of characters from the Rock Chick, Dream Man, and Dream Team series。-The secondary characters in Misted Pines (especially Kimmy) were entertaining。What I didn't like:-The social justice preaching and digs at conservatives that has become so prevalent in novels (and everywhere else) got old。-KA usually brings on the sexy in a big way, and it was definitely there in this book, but it sort of took a backseat to the mystery。 That wasn't bad at all, just something I missed。 。。。more

I wish I could get a refund and those hours back。 The main characters were just too perfect and wonderful and I felt like I was having that rammed down my throat。 The story was way too long and I probably would have got some enjoyment if it had ended half way through。

I love that whenever I pick up a book from KA I know I will be immersed in a new world with colorful characters, crazy antics, family, fun and romance。 This story had all that along with police drama, murders to solve and a town on edge。 The storyline in full bodied with details, emotion and some tense moments involving a serial killer and a stalker。 The characters shone so bright that I can’t pick a favorite。 Obviously there is the the main characters and their children, but there is also Kimmy I love that whenever I pick up a book from KA I know I will be immersed in a new world with colorful characters, crazy antics, family, fun and romance。 This story had all that along with police drama, murders to solve and a town on edge。 The storyline in full bodied with details, emotion and some tense moments involving a serial killer and a stalker。 The characters shone so bright that I can’t pick a favorite。 Obviously there is the the main characters and their children, but there is also Kimmy, Paddy, David, and Megan。 There is a great addition of romance and fun in this story, but the focus is the solving of the stalker and the serial killer。 The creation and usage of the lake and mist was great and I enjoyed envisioning the most floating around and the the beauty of the views。 I enjoyed this book and hope to read more of this community and family! 。。。more

I freaking loved it!Read it in two days because I couldn´t put it aside。 The right amount of scary, gripping and sweet。And for me it was a mystery until the end to find out who the bad guy was。I couldn´t guess it and thats important for me for that kind of storybecause it´s so much more suspenseful!I know that I will read this again and again。 Just wish I could read it again for the first time!

When I heard extra hype around this book being KA's version of a thriller, I didn't really understand。 Didn't we get that with books such as For You? After reading it, I can tell you that it's not a huge departure from that type of book。 At all。 This is definitely a "KA book。"What was a huge departure for me was her character development and relationship development in the first half of the story。 Much more shallow than I'm used to with this author。 The dialogue was choppy and disjointed, and th When I heard extra hype around this book being KA's version of a thriller, I didn't really understand。 Didn't we get that with books such as For You? I didn't know what to expect going into this book。 Being billed as a romantic thriller little different from the author's norm but its one of my fav genres。 I loved it。。 Still has all the characteristics of a KA book but ramped up in the suspense, thrills and twisted。 I'm hooked on this new series and cant wait to see what's next。 I didn't know what to expect going into this book。 Being billed as a romantic thriller little different from the author's norm but its one of my fav genres。 I loved it。。 Still has all the characteristics of a KA book but ramped up in the suspense, thrills and twisted。 I'm hooked on this new series and cant wait to see what's next。 。。。more

A welcome return to past form for Kristen Ashley。 While I’ve enjoyed her recent books I haven’t been in a rush to re-read then but The Girl in the Mist, a romantic suspense novel, is reminiscent of her Colorado Mountain series – one of my favourites – although, in my eyes, the town of Misted Pines is definitely more a den of iniquity than Carnal ever was。 The story begins when fifty something author and former actress Delphine Larue moves to the town to escape a deranged stalker。 She soon finds A welcome return to past form for Kristen Ashley。 While I’ve enjoyed her recent books I haven’t been in a rush to re-read then but The Girl in the Mist, a romantic suspense novel, is reminiscent of her Colorado Mountain series – one of my favourites – although, in my eyes, the town of Misted Pines is definitely more a den of iniquity than Carnal ever was。 The story begins when fifty something author and former actress Delphine Larue moves to the town to escape a deranged stalker。 She soon finds that the safe haven she expected isn’t all it appears to be。 Everyone seems to have secrets and the abduction of a child soon brings them them bubbling to the surface。There is so much I love about this book。 For a start the heroine Delphine is a mature woman。 She’s strong and independent。 She doesn’t need a man to complete her and isn’t even looking。 When one comes her way though she’s not about to look a gift horse in the mouth and turn him down。 Cade Bohannan is a stereo-typical Ashley alpha male hero。 The strong , silent, mountain man type who communicates mainly through chin lifts and various other gestures but hey, if a formula works why change it – I definitely have no complaints。 I do have trouble picturing him in his former life as an FBI profiler。 The plot itself I give a solid five stars as I was totally surprised by ‘whodunnit’ and didn’t suspect them for a second。 My one niggle with this book is Delphine and Cade’s kids, they’re just too perfect。 Delphine has two daughters – the oldest an airforce pilot and the youngest a lesbian social worker whose been with her girlfriend since school。 Cade has twin boys in their twenties who both work with him and, despite having received no formal training, seem to be ace detectives and a teenage daughter whose rebellious streak began and ended with her swearing at a teacher – none of them probably have a single cavity between them。 There’s a strong cast of secondary characters and I’m looking forward to revisiting Misted Pines in future 。。。more

As a long time fan of KA I was very intrigued by a romantic suspense story by her。I will start by saying that although I had hard time getting into the story I did enjoy it overall。 It may have been a bit wordy but in true KA fashion the characters and the ties that bound them together were strong。 Another thing I love about this authors stories is that they are older characters。 They have lived life to their fullest and always have interesting backgrounds。 Delphine was a bit of a surprise for m As a long time fan of KA I was very intrigued by a romantic suspense story by her。I will start by saying that although I had hard time getting into the story I did enjoy it overall。 It may have been a bit wordy but in true KA fashion the characters and the ties that bound them together were strong。 Another thing I love about this authors stories is that they are older characters。 They have lived life to their fullest and always have interesting backgrounds。 Delphine was a bit of a surprise for me in that I initially thought her to be uptight but I was very wrong - in a good way。 Cade was an excellent grump and great single Dad。 This ghost story filled town seems to have a lot going on and I look forward to more from Misted Pines! 。。。more

Wow! Where to start with this one for us, we have to say that out of all the books we have read by this author, this story is fighting neck and neck with my number one favorite of all time of Ms。 Ashley's stories。 Motorcycle Man has been my #1 favorite so far as we never come across another Tack Allen but, this current story may have just moved into my #1 spot。 We loved everything about this story, as it checked all of our boxes of all the things we loved in the stories we read。From the moment y Wow! Where to start with this one for us, we have to say that out of all the books we have read by this author, this story is fighting neck and neck with my number one favorite of all time of Ms。 Ashley's stories。 Motorcycle Man has been my #1 favorite so far as we never come across another Tack Allen but, this current story may have just moved into my #1 spot。 We loved everything about this story, as it checked all of our boxes of all the things we loved in the stories we read。From the moment you were turning the pages, it drew you right in, and you were hooked。 The story had non-stop drama, real life situations, the story felt real, and it was like you were living the life of the characters。 The story has so many ups and downs and so many precious moments that just melted your heart。 The intrigue and suspense kept you on edge the entire time。The entire cast of characters they were awesome and all so loveable, we fell in love with them all。 Even when Delly and Cade were just friends and neighbors and kicking it, the whole scenario felt like a family unit。 The communication between all parties was awesome and easy and just felt natural all the time。Delly was a character down to earth, loveable, had a huge and loving heart, successful but not vain, beautiful kind and loving and smart as a whip。 Loved her interactions with the boys as well as Celeste as they always felt motherly without pushing out forcing her opinions or beliefs on them。 The chemistry she has with Cade was off the charts and sensual as well as precious, they had something very special between them, something that happens once in a lifetime。 Nothing but, fire and passion between this couple and a lot of love。 One thing we loved most about Delly is that she just did not fall in love with one person but an entire family right from the very beginning of interacting with the Bohannan family。Cade was just a sweetheart, loved him immediately, a family man loved his kids wholeheartedly and put them first。 He is smart and all alpha, yet he never came off as domineering our pushy。 Loved the way he communicated with Delly as well as his kids。 We could go on about the things we loved about this man but, a few thoughts come to mind, swoon worthy, that voice could melt the panties off a girl and last but not least Delly your one lucky b*tch。We loved this story through and through the suspense and mystery, the family and friends the love that surround them all。 The scenery described was breathtaking。 Loved, Loved, Loved。。。 。。。more
